Cruising with The Simpsons

The Simpsons are a family of cartoon characters that have been on the screen in both the US and UK for several years. I was pleased to see recently that even they had been converted to cruising.

The episode in question began with Bart, the son, seeing an advert for Royalty Cruises which sounds suspiciously like Royal Caribbean Cruises. Bart decides that this sounds like an ideal holiday and convinces his parents, Marge and Homer, to book.

During the episode we are invited on board the fun ship, Royalty Valhalla, where Bart enjoys the water slides and his sister, Lisa, joins a science club at sea showing the diversity of cruising.

Meanwhile Marge and Homer rekindle their romance on the ship as they enjoy time alone together.

The Cruise Director was one of those annoying happy people who constantly sounds like they have been on laughing gas and becomes slightly irritating.

Through the kids and parents we see how much fun cruising can be in fact we see it is too much fun as Bart hatches a plan so he does not ever have to leave the ship but we all know all good things must come to an end and Bart does finally realise this.

As an added piece of information did you know that one of the Cunard ships has an image of Bart on one of its murals?
