Cruise and Maritime Voyages Looking to Expand its Fleet of Ships to Seven!

Cruise and Maritime are looking to buy a seventh ship to join the fleet, with further plans to launch in 2020.

CMV (Cruise and Maritime Voyages) considered buying P&O ship Oriana, however this was sold to a joint venture between China Travel Service and China Ocean Shipping Group Company. Ships that hold approximately 1200 passengers are perfect for their targeted audience. “Ships with capacity for 1,200 passengers are perfect,” said head of marketing Mike Hall. He  explained “It is absolutely no secret that we are looking to grow the CMV fleet.”

CMV launched its 2020 programme in December, three months ahead of its traditional on-sale date in March.

“We felt it was sensible to bring forward the launch, knowing that the original Brexit date was in late March,” Hall said.

“This time last year we had not really started selling, so we feel like we have got a head start,” Hall added.

No less than 10 new ships have and will be launched in 2019 across all cruise lines. Current demand for cruises have rocketed, and cruise lines cannot build the ships quick and in some cases big enough.
