Christmas with an Elf!

1st of December arrived and so did Elfie!! We started to do Elf on the Shelf last year for my son Charlie. Its a bit of fun for all the family. It really helps you get into the Christmas spirit. In fact our whole weekend has been about getting in the Christmas spirit. Visiting friends and families and days out to the Christmas markets.

We are lucky here in Edinburgh the Christmas market is huge if a little overpriced. There are pop up bars, pop up restaurants & fast food outlets, lots of stalls to but local produce, handmade gifts and all the traditional things you might find at a European market. Along with all of this there are fairground rides for all the family, the festival of lights on George Street and even an Ice rink. Everything is within walking distance and I would say its a match for some of the Christmas markets I have been to in Europe in the past.

Edinburgh Christmas

This was a busy week for us too as Charlie had to collect his new glasses. I think he looks really cute in them! Luckily he loves wearing them and is making life at school much easier!

Now onto our little visitor Elfie. So he arrived on 1st December and had filled up Charlies advent Calendar. Since then he has gone fishing in the fish tank, used the hammer to build a door in the skirting board to get back to the North Pole. He has also got Charlies toys out played with the remote control car, built some lego and decorated the Christmas tree.

I must admit I normally forget until its time to go to bed and have a mad rush to plant the elf somewhere different. Seeing Charlies face in the morning though makes it all. You really cant beat the magic a child brings to a house at Christmas.
