Ever dreamed of staying in a suite on your favourite ship but realistically its way out of your budget?
Fear Not! Norwegian Cruise Line’s new concept Upgrade Advantage Program could help those dreams become a reality.
Originally tested on Norwegian Escape, Norwegian Epic, Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Getaway and Pride Of America. The system has now been rolled out across the entire fleet and allows passengers to bid on the price they want to pay for an upgrade.
Norwegian Cruise lines system will automatically send email based alerts to those qualifying passengers, qualification is based on a number of factors including the number of available cabins and price paid by the customer.
Clients can bid on upgrade eg Inside – Ocean view, ocean view – balcony but you can’t choose a cabin number or grade on cabin number within the category.
Cruise lines aren’t silly, there is always a logic to their madness, of course, they want you to try a higher grade. If you like it, then realistically you will book that type of cabin again next time. Personally, I think this is a win-win situation for clients.
My colleague just told me about one her clients who were quoted £1000 to upgrade his cabin but then had a winning bid of just £400.
So don’t be shy get those bids in and you might just get lucky!
