What have Thomson got planned for the future of cruise ??

I love nothing better than hearing some news and what cruise companies are thinking of planning in the future. At a recent travel convention the director of cruise for Thomson talked about their fleet expanding with new ships over the next few years and utilizing their new aircrafts the ‘ Dreamliner ‘ and going further field and entering Asia and maybe featuring cruise and stay combinations.

In actual fact this isn’t a brand new destination as I remember one of the first ships they had ‘The Topaz ‘ was based out in Thailand in the winter months for a couple of seasons.

Although nothing has been confirmed either way My money is on the new ship which will be handed over to Thomson next year from Royal Caribbean the ‘Tui Discovery 2’

Thomson attract a variety of passengers a lot of new to cruise customers as its a small transition from their regular package beach holidays offering a more inclusive package like the tips, own aircrafts, reps, drinks packages etc etc
In fact from next summer Thomson Cruises are moving to attract more new to cruise customers by going all inclusive on the Tui Discovery 2.This definitely appeals to passengers who don’t know what to expect and will have no hidden extras.

Currently Thomson cruise to 120 different places for their small fleet and you will notice that they do different ports of call
to the other leading cruise lines , a successful few years sailing out of Croatia , the Dream being based out of Jamaica visiting Cuba over the winter. New destinations already on sale are Dubai this winter with some unbelievable prices and back by demand they will have a ship based out of the uk next summer.

With Virgin recently announcing their plans of their upcoming cruise line set to launch in the next few years will keep Thomson on their toes as they will be a major competitor in the market having their own aircrafts also.

Lets see what they announce when they launch their new season next month !!!
