Viva Skegvegas Conference 2017

It’s that time of year again when the party season has started and everyone is looking forward to nights out and work get together’s. This weekend it was the annual Cruise.Co.UK Conference at Butlins Skegness on a 60’s Music themed weekend. Now you may think this doesn’t sound much like work but we did have to sit through presentations from some of the cruise lines and from our own internal departments. This is a great chance for us to learn about what’s coming in the future from the various cruise lines and also lets us know what is happening within the company.

This of course was only part of it and there was some fun element included with quizzes and games with some good prizes at stake. MSC gave away a chance to go to the launch of the new MSC Seaview which is launching next year and Royal Caribbean gave away a 2 night cruise on Independence of the Seas when the ship comes to Southampton after the refit. Princess Cruises also gave away a mini cruise for next year. I was in the running for the MSC trip but unfortunately I was unable to build a Lego Airplane, even with instructions!

My name in lights trying to win the Quiz!

The conference is a great way for all the staff to get together as we don’t get much chance with working at home and being dotted all around the country. In the evenings we had the “Front Room” exclusively for us from 8am until Midnight  where we had a disco and Karaoke every night. As it was a 60’s themed weekend it was of course fancy dress which was great fun with lots of different takes on the fancy dress.

We had all of our managers dressed as Thunderbirds complemented by Lady Penelope and Parker! Our After Sales Team were dressed as Dalmations and our only male member dressed as Cruella de Ville! And we also had the Directors dressed as Elvis!

All of the food was laid on for us with breakfast and evening meal every day in the Yacht Club and Lunch exclusively for us in the Coral Restaurant. We were also provided with wrist bands for inclusive drinks in the Front Room and for the 2 main venues, Centre Stage and Reds.

X Factor Team

Cosmo to end the Conference.

I have to say Cruise.co.uk pulled it out of the bag for us again this year  and makes you appreciate what a great company we work for. A special thanks to our Sales Operations Manager, Vicki Morrison for organizing it all , she never lets us down.

Roll on Conference 2018!
