Ships are having a Shuffle!

Anyone who is a fan of P&O cruises will recall the Adonia, the smallest ship in the fleet, left the company last year and was relocated to Miami to embark on a new venture “fathom”. From here she sailed to Dominican Republic where passengers helped with volunteer work like teaching English. There has now been a u-turn on this and Carnival Corporation has decided to return the ship to P&O. Adonia will be sailing from the UK again from June 2017 after she has had some upgrades including Olly Smiths Glass House and an Outdoor Cinema. The sailing are expected to go on sale in December. I’m sure this will be a welcome return to the fleet for the loyal P&O passengers who enjoy the intimacy of a small ship.

Whilst Adonia will be returning to Southampton a Celebrity Ship will be leaving Southampton. Celebrity Eclipse which has been based in Southampton since 2010 will not be home based in Southampton in 2018. Celebrity fans don’t need to worry though as she is being replaced by Celebrity Silhouette. Silhouette will have her first sailing from Southampton on 30^th April 2018 which will be a 7 night cruise to the Fjords and the she will be doing 14 night sailings to the Baltic with some of the sailings having 3 days and 2 overnights in St Petersburg.

MSC cruises will also have ships sailing from Southampton in 2017 and 2018. MSC Opera was popular when she sailed from Southampton, as was MSC Spendida this year, on the few sailings that she had. These are great value for money with great prices for Children up to 17 years old. MSC Preziosa will have sailings from Southampton in 2017 and MSC Magnifica is 2018.

NCL Jade will be sailing from Southampton in 2017  which is great for people who like the Freestyle cruising. Formal nights and dressing up isn’t for everyone on a cruise so their style of cruising appeals to people who like the more casual approach. Jade will be sailings to Norway from Southampton from May 2017.

There will be plenty of choice and cruise lines for passengers over the next 2 years so I’m sure there will be something for everyone who like sailing from the UK.
