Harmony has arrived, 11 more sleeps!

Yesterday was a historic occasion for the port of Southampton when the biggest cruise ship in the world docked in the port. Harmony of the Seas, which is the newest member of the Royal Caribbean fleet, will sail for the first time with paying passengers on Sunday 22nd May on a 4 night sailing followed by a 3 nights sailing on 26th May before her official Maiden Voyage on 29th May when she will sail from Southampton to Barcelona. I am really excited to be sailing on the 29th May voyage and can’t wait to see what she has to offer. Having travelled on Allure and Oasis of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas it will be interesting to see what the Oasis Class and Quantum Class ships are liked rolled into one.

There will be 20 restaurants and 23 swimming pools and will also have the tallest waterslide at sea. The “Abyss” plunges 10 storeys from deck 16 to deck 6 and will definitely not be for the faint hearted (I think I’ll give it a miss!) The ship will also have the Robotic Bar which features on the Ovation Class ships and is one of my favourite bars.

I have already booked all my entertainment for my trip and really looking forward to all the shows. I think I am most looking forward to seeing “Grease” and if it’s is anything like the other productions I have seen on Royal Caribbean I will not be disappointed. I have also booked to see the show at the Aqua Theatre, “The Fine Line” and 1887: A Journey in Time which is the Ice Show. Along with this I have also got Comedy Stand Up Show and the Headliner Showtime. You will be able to read all about these in my blog when I get back from my trip.

Dining is also a big part of cruising so we have booked “Wonderland” for one of the Evenings and also “Sabor” Taqueria and Tequila Bar for another Evening. I’m sure we may fit Chops Grille in too at some point as this is one of my favourite places to dine. It was so good we dined in there twice while on Oasis of the Seas as it does the best Fillet Mignon ever!

Only 11 more sleeps and counting, I’m like a kid before Christmas!
