Crown Princess to become home from home

I don’t know about you but when I go on a cruise one of my favourite things is the food, I love trying all the international dishes and eating food that I wouldn’t usually eat at home. I’m sure you will agree that dining on board your cruise should be one of the highlights, it certainly is for me. So when I read Princess cruises latest plans for their menu’s on board I have to say I wasn’t overly convinced from a personal perspective.

According to Princess they are listening to their customers opinions and have added lots of British menu choices as a result. So just what can you expect when you get on board Crown Princess…… how about a full English breakfast, with English sausages, bacon and crumpets! There will be a Sunday roast available with all the trimmings, fish and chips which will be served daily for lunch. Other options will include a curry evening, lunchtime specials such as hotpots and pastries and cottage pie!iStock-488801133

You’ll be able to get Branston pickle, HP sauce and even Marmite on board and of course not forgetting our British cup of tea. Reading the new menu additions it almost sounds like a week eating in our house…..is this what you really want from your cruise? I prefer to sample foods I perhaps haven’t tasted before, I like to eat food that is completely different to what I enjoy at home. For me the new choices on board don’t get me excited but of course they haven’t totally replaced their international cuisine menus they have added these as extras so I guess they are trying to please everyone and all tastes which I do have to take as a positive move.

One thing I did like was the idea of food and drinks served to coincide with special occasions….Champagne and Pimms and of course strawberries during Wimbledon! Now this I like!!

What do you think of the new food choices being added to the menus, do you like your home comforts around you when you are on your cruise or are you like me and like to be a little more adventurous?

As always I would love to hear your views. Until next time Abbi x
