Almost time for my cruise on board…

Navigator of the Seas…..In just a few weeks I’ll be boarding Navigator of the Seas with my family for our cruise. It’s going to be the first time we have cruised with my little girl and we are all so excited, it’s going to be extra special as it’s our honeymoon cruise and yes we are taking Sofia with us…we couldn’t leave her behind! My little girl is five and I have been telling her all about the ship and what we’ll be able to do. Of course at five never having been on a cruise ship or even seeing one she doesn’t really know what it’s all about. I am so excited just at the prospect of how much she is going to love the ship.

Royal Caribbean was the obvious choice for me for our first family cruise, sailing from Southampton so no airport headache and a ship with so much to do for all the family plus we got a great deal on a balcony cabin with discounts for Sofia and a drinks package thrown in!

So what will we be getting up to whilst on board……there is so much to choose from and this is what makes Royal Caribbean such an amazing cruise line for families. Sofia already has a list of what she wants to do ….top of the list is rock climbing! I’ve shown her photos of the last time I did the rock climbing on board Independence and she really can’t wait. She is fearless and will be very determined to get to the top of the wall! We’ll see but I have a feeling she will climb higher than me!

She also can’t wait to try out Flow Rider, the surf simulator…in her words when I said she might be a bit small for this one…”it looks easy mummy!” so we’ll see how she gets on with the help of her daddy on this one. Ice skating is another of the activities on her list and I’m looking forward to doing this as a family, I’ve told her that we can watch an Ice Show when on board, something she has never experienced before. There is so much activity wise to keep her busy I don’t think she is going to want to leave the ship! She’s going to love the swimming pool, the mini golf, the sport court, the royal promenade….and so much more.

The Adventure Ocean programme looks fantastic and her age means she will be in the Aquanaut group for 3-5 year olds… again lots of activities planned for the children and this will be the first time Sofia has been to a “kids club” on holiday so I will let you know how it goes. It will be a big step for me as a protective mummy to let her go but I know she will love it and of course we’ll get some lovely adult time…after all this is our honeymoon!

The last cruise I did with Royal Caribbean was as a couple, just the two of us and of course when you add a little one to the equation things change and cruising becomes a whole other experience. One I can’t wait to try and I’m sure it’s going to be the first of many for Sofia…who I am expecting to love cruising as much as i do!

For now I’m off the shops with Sofia and can’t wait to buy her lots of cruise dresses! There will be lots of photos to follow our cruise and lots of tips for cruising with a little one when we’re back. So keep an eye out early June and I’ll share it all with you.

Until next time Abbi x
