Hello, we got married October 08 on the Sun Princess and it was the best experience you can imagine, we were treated like royalty and the captain who married us was excellent, we would reccomend it to anybody thinking about it regards Mr and Mrs Moore.

It is a common belief that ship's captains can marry people on their ships. This is completely untrue. Whatever procedure you decide upon, I do strongly urge you to make sure that any marriage you ciontemplate outside your homeland will actually be recognised as legal.

That may be true under UK law. P&O have re-registered their ships to Hamilton Bermuda to enable weddings at sea and thus P&O weddings are carried out under Bermundan law which is apparently recognised in UK. The P&O website explains the legal position but as you say it would be wise to double check. http://www.pocruises.com/Experience/Wedding.axd.

Thomson Spirit, goodbye old friend?

By Gordon Maney

Well, I am just back from my 3rd stay on the Thomson Spirit, and yet again, it was a wonderful experience. It has been called the friendliest ship at sea and I certainly could not argue with that, you feel like one of the family. As Thomson continue to modernize their fleet, with the TUI Discovery 1 & 2, and the Explorer next year, the decision has been made to let both the Spirit and the Majesty go.What the ship may lack in modern technology, it more than makes up for in other ways. The foo...
