BLYTH - Answered a Question by mcguire (29 Apr 08 19:37)

We have had 3 cruises in the med and one that started from Amsterdam. The weather on the Amsterdam cruise was a bit wet and windy but by the time we reached Vigo in Spain the weather was fine. On the 3 in the med it was temps 70/75 and on all 3 we had dry weather but nothing is guaranteed. The only problem is how a 22 month baby might cope if you are in the eastern med where the temps are higher particularly in Turkey and Greece but you don't indicate which part of the med you will be cruising in.

Dear Mr Mcguire, The weather throughout the Med will, or should be, hot in early September and cooling down towards the end of the month but still very warm to hot. Better than your May experience. You can get the occasional thunder storm and sometimes a real storm but those ships will cope well with it. As far as your grand-daughter is concerned she can be kept away from strong sunlight on the ship and if she feels it too much the ship is air conditioned so cooling down in a quiet spot should not be a problem. ..yours Id.

We did Med cruise 2 yrs ago on OV, similar itinery to Island. Tunis, Rome, Naples Barcelona, Cannes, all were red hot. You needed a hat for the tours in afternoon. You can still sit out but stay on shaded side of ship, we did cos my hubby couldn't cope with the heat. Hope they enjoy it, we did .
