I live near Barcelona. It should be quite warm in September (low 20's C) but the climate seems to be changing so it could be unpredictable. Days could be very hot, evenings a pair of trousers and a sweater at the most. A light waterproof just in case you get some rain. It certainly won't be cold so no heavy clothin.

September is one of the best months, in my opinion, for crossing the Atlantic but you might still have some mid pond fog and occasionally the water can have some lumps in it. It should be pleasantly warm though. Once you are through into the Mediterranean the temperature will rise and in early September should give you days in the 80s'F. Later it cools down but not much until October. Still be prepared for inclement weather though, nothing at sea is for certain particularly of late ... regards Nei.

Have cruised this area several times in September and October and have always had pleasant hot weather Not as hot as August but much better for sightseeing. Short sleeve summer clothes. Take a light rain jacket just in case but even with rain it should be warm.

Travelling with children on Cr...

By Josephine Wright

Hello fellow cruises, I have recently been checking what it would entail for me to take my grandson on a cruise ,and of course he has a different surname , If you are thinking of taking a child relative or not then it might be good to read on and check out what to do to avoid stress at the Port or Airport for that matter. If you are travelling with grandchildren or friends children or indeed your own child but they have a different surname to you on their passport, you need to take precautions...

Lovely Eclipse Weekend

By Lee Johnson

Lee Johnson's blog

I have just had a fantastic 2 night cruise on the wonderful Eclipse. The mini cruise was part of my month long 40th Celebrations and was a little getaway for me and my partner. It is the first time in 14 years that we have been away without the children and although we missed them we had such a great few days.We started the break by heading down to Southampton, which is a bit of a trek from Barrow-in-Furness but I find it no problem by rail. I would recommend staying over in Southampton the ...

Fred To Enter The River Market

By Camilla Edwards

Camilla Edwards's blog

Fred Olsen have long been one of my favourite cruise lines, Braemar was the first ship I ever did a ” proper cruise”. When I say proper I mean not a mini cruise or ship visit as it was a 14 night Canary Islands sailing. In the last couple of years Braemar has been one of the lines ships that have started to do river cruising. Although in reality it is not really totally river cruising as the ships have been sailing from a UK port – Dover or Southampton.German Waterways sails ...
