Cruise ships traditionally cruise around Europe and Scandinavia during July and August when it is hot and drier here, and the Caribbean during December to June when it is cold and wet in Europe but warmer and drier there! There is nothing to stop you cruising the Caribbean in August IF YOU FEEL YOU MUST. Both Carnival and Royal Caribbean cruise the area at this time of year. You may not find it as cheap as you think though! This is also a good time to cruise the Baltic and even further afield to Iceland and Greenland. Alaska is also a good choice at this time. How about a weeks cruise from the USA to Bermuda and back, or 12 nights cruising the Hawaiian Islands? The world is your oyster! Happy cruising?
It is Hurricane season. That is why it is cheap.
The other thing to bear in mind is that that is the school holiday time & lots of ships will have children on board. If that's not a problem.......... It is hurrican season, but having travelled during that time, (Had no choice) The ships do all that they can to avoid any bad weather & will either call in at another port, or have an enforced day at sea. What about as an alternative, the cruises that go to Scandinavia/Russia, etc?
