Hi you mention that you are going to Fjords on 13th July. Are you by chance going on the Grand Princess? We are on that ship and we have the same surname as you. Co-incidence or what. If you get any info re: trips other than the ships own, perhaps we could pool info. E-mail address is elb29@uk2.net. Hope to hear from you.

We went in May 2007 and were very lucky having sunny, warm days all the time, however the locals will tell you it can be changeable throughout the summer season much the same as UK and it is better to have some warm clothing for the excursions into the mountains, and light wet weather gear for the shore trips and transfers. If it is a cruise you are on then the ship's interior are almost always air conditioned and dress codes dictate what is most suitable.

Been in June, weather really good, cool at night. You need Fleeces for excursions and jackets (male and female) at night! You can get a tan even that far north! So take some summer clothes as well ! You will have a wonderful time, take plenty of film! Scenery spectacular.

We went a couple of years ago also in July and although it wasn't cold it was a bit damp at times!!! Looking at the photos I had cropped trousers with t shirt and micro fleece on and sometimes I was carrying the fleece! We just took layers with us and peeled off when we could...I also took a lightweight cagoule which folded up really small and did get worn!

We went to the norwegian fjords and iceland last june on the grand princess - and were very surprised how good the weather was - most days we wore just t shirts and jeans or cut off's - but did take a fleece or light jacket with us - it is best to dress in layers - and a cagoule is a good idea - also can be a bit chilly on board at night time. good walking shoes are also a necessity if you want to walk to the glaciers or waterfalls.grand princess fantastic - sure you will have a superb time.

The Independence of the seas has had it’s make over and has been refurbished whilst in dry docks throughout April. As you read this I would have spent my first night on board.I have been on the Independence of the seas before but this was way back in 2008 and it was a travel agent pre-inaugural sailings for two nights. I can still remember it so I’m really looking forward to being on this ship again. I like the Voyager and Freedom class of ships from Royal Caribbean. They just fe...

The Independence of the Seas was build and launched in 2008Royal Caribbean gives a refit to all their ship at around the 10th year anniversary. The sister ship Navigator of the Seas has had her make over last year and looks beautiful proving to have become the new favourite until now.
