Q: Hi, we are cruising with RCI on the Liberty of the Seas in December. I notice that a trip can be made on day of departure to the Everglades. The trip is showing as leaving at 7.30am and is 4 hours long. The website states that at the end of the trip you are dropped off at the airport. As our flight is not until 17.10 that evening are we expected to hang around the airport for 5 hours? 3 answers

As commented above this is pain in the butt but is sometimes unavoidable. The main problem being that the ships normally dock in the early hours of the day and as you are cruising in the US most flights do not leave until the evening to return to the UK. Take the tour offered it will be better than being stranded at the airport.

Hi, thanks for your comment. If we did not do the trip do you know what time RCI let you stay on the ship until. I am aware that you have to give your room up but do they move you straight out to the airport first thing.

'Fraid so, that's why some of us book our own flights. This is becoming more and more common as cruise lines choose the cheapest flight option of the day.............Wilba
