Find Your Cruise
We stopped in Aruba last year on Sea Princess, there is "parking" for a few cruise ships. A couple of minutes walk & you go through a small homemade terminal, that sells local items, then your in the town. A nice safe place- expensive but can find a good cold beer at iguana joes !
This is one of those strange questions which leaves the mind wondering, does he mean air transfers, tender transfers or tattoo transfers. So
Air Transfers: I have no idea, probably via Miami
Tender Transfers: None usually as the ship docks
Tattoo transfers: about $20 depending on the size and position.
We have just returned from 14 days cruise on the OV2 which absolutely wonderful and not to be missed, however like very many other place, a word of warning do not display any jewelry what-so-ever, two incidents occured on our trip, the first was a lady with her husband had her gold necklace snatched by a young boy about 13/14 and as her skin was moist from perpiration it held on to her gold chain but got away with her crucifix, secondly a lady in her mid sixties was robbed at gunpoint and everything taken including her wedding ring, SO be warned go in a group if possible or carry a big stick.
Have not been to Aruba on a cruise ship recently. But in 1999 the Dawn |Princess berthed at quay in Aruba and a short walk took passengers to a free open-air train type shuttle to centre of town. Not much of interest except American type malls full of jewellery shops./ Howver this was nearly 10 years ago and everything may have changed.
Very efficient. Do not need to collect cases at airport, they go straight to ship, but you may have to wait a while for them. Transfer takes approximately 15 minutes. Ship was in port all night so you were able to get off to enjoy the nightlife, but we were too tired after the journey. Aruba is a lovely place. On way back, you check in for your return flight on the ship a week before you leave and then put your cases out the night before and then don't see them until back in UK. Seats allocated on plane in advance and boarding cards put under door in cabin. Leave ship about 1.5 hours prior to departure. Very efficient process. Have a wonderful time - we did. Could not fault OV2 at all. Please don't be afraid. We never saw anything to put us off and travelled independently in every port.
