Q: What toiletries are suppled free for in-cabin use on Queen Victoria?
Staying at Los Angeles Airport Hilton after a BA flight (23 KG luggage) from UK for 1 night before boarding QV for cruise to Hawaii in Mid Feb. Mindful of the amount of formal gear required and the fact that liquids in any amount cannot be taken in flight hand baggage, my question is: Does anyone know if there is a reasonably priced drugstore in the vicinity of the Hotel where I can stock up on Toiletries which are not supplied in cabin? Thanks!

Hiltons have good quality toiletries, just changed brand in US to Peter Thomas Roth not known in UK but very nice,so should be OK there.Liked them when in US in September 2011.Also Hiltons US have Lavazza coffee bags with a filter machine. That should take care of overnight and Cunard have great toiletries,Poundland/Wilco stock bottles and jars to decant other bits and pieces into, all in one facial wipes I find useful too(cleanser and toner in one)and followed Boots lady's advice to rinse out previous night's cloth with warm water for am tone-works. A 15kg allowance to tour Namibia has made me think Do I really need that? Ok you don't need nail polish on safari ,the insect repellent dissolves it anyway as a fellow traveller found out!

when I have a luggage limit I buy my toiletries at Boots airside. You are allowed to take this on board in the same way you take your duty free!

Many thanks for your suggestion about using Boots airside to stock up prior to a flight to cut down on checked in weight. That is a very good idea and will be okay when I am flying on a direct flight from the UK. However, in this case, I fly Edinburgh to Paris then Paris to Los Angeles on Air France.( Have never used them before. ) Although it will be a connection I always seem to have to go through security before each flight. Perhaps you, or someone else out there can advise me if there is a pharmacy offering products similar to Boots airside in Charles de Gaulle Airport?

The only thing I take with me for the shower[Victoria] product wise, is conditioner and moisturiser. For three weeks the shower gel and shampoo is fine...and I'm a high end product gal.

Ah, the 'Wrinkle Cream!!' That is needed AFTER the cruise to counteract all the sunshine we are going to experience..... Do you happen to know the name of the Superstore & the local beach area, and which bus will take me there.? I hope I will be fit to explore after my flights from Edinburgh to Lax (via Paris on Air France for a change) but if not, then I have all of the following morning till my transport takes me to the ship around 1 pm. Many thanks for your help.

IF you enter in Manhattan Beach LA its 15mins away (bus is via hotel free) its called MANHATTAN VILLAGE MALL or you can look at pics on YELP.COM. That flight is a real real pain via Paris BEST OF LUCK Cdg airport is a nightmare you will have to go through the security again and a fairly long walk we done this to Miami last year, pain in the ass we only just made it because of the amount of people so be quick dont hang around looking at things UNTIL YOUR IN SECURE AREA PRIOR TO FLIGHT.Sorry to say that but you should know, it could help, you think you have a few hours but do it as quick as pos. Have a great time we are also in the Hilton for the night,we would be interested if your connected out there to let us know via here what it was like because there updating.Again have a great fantastic time and lots of sun yes yes yes dont forget ask for updated room. take care...........Bobby S
