If i was made to pay tips I would not sail with this company, tips are NOT compulsary, they are for exceptional service and is up to your discretion, I have read poor reviews about Costa cruises! Do your research first.

On Costa they are compulsory, they are added to your final onboard account and you will not be allowed off until it's paid, that is, if you try and 'buck the system' by paying in cash........Wilba

My Sister did a Trip for 18 days on Costa Victoria last Year from Brazil to Genova and she was charged at US$9 per person per day for the days from Brazil about 7-8 and then when they reached Tenerife she then had a charge of about €125 Euros for the Mediterranean part of the trip. Hope this Helps. So you will be charged in both currencies. She found the Staff at Costa when she spoke to them very helpful regarding these charges.

I may be wrong but my understanding is that when cruising out of and around the USA the charge is made in dollars but when out of Europe the charge is in Euros. You might be able to check this better, even though you say the site is useless, by using the UK and the US web sites, or even ringing the people with whom you booked. ....Neil
