Much has been asked & written about MSC over the last few days so I'm assuming you've read all the comments & reviews. Six Euros a day is charged to your account which can be removed by filling in a form from the desk, no hassle. Alcohol purchased in port will be removed & stored till last day of cruise. Alcohol taken on board at embarkation is no different to any other cruise line, if it's not on show, it's out of sight, out of mind.

Hi there we haven't cruised on Armonia yet (remedying that in a months time!) but went Genoa/Durban on Melody last October/November and took alchohol in hand luggage but suitably disguised! and had no problem whatsoever also had our tips removed from our account without any problems at all and simply tipped the people we thought desreved them We don't like the system of "the higher your position in the crew the more tips you get" at all as we think the people who look after you ie cabin steward and waiters deserve tips more than the entertainments staff or other similar crew members.

The ships were always old and small, but customers loved them none the less. Well, that’s changed con...

Looking For School Holiday Cruises?

By Amy Ginder

Amy Ginder's blog

This time of year we have a lot of calls asking for late availability for the school holidays. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it is very late in the day. The answer is book early! Book now for 2018, if you leave it to nearer the time not only will the prices climb but you are unlikely to ge...

Thomson Cruises have made some changes in recent years and things are really working for them, in the last 5 years they have seen an increase in passenger numbers of 40%, with 20% being in the last year alone. They have always been looked down upon by a lot of customers, although unjustly so as their reviews have always been good. But with older ships and less of the pomp and ceremony of other lines they have been viewed as being at the lower end of the market. In 2016, they made a major ...
