Don't panic! If you booked via a travel agent thet get back to them to chivy up Thompsons. In any case the documentation you get is just a single cheque book style booklet with your names and itinery in it and various details about excursions etc. I recently traveled on the Celebration from Harwich and the check in procedure was efficient. Although I had a 'ticket' they just gave it a cursory glance, gave me a boarding number and passed me on to the passport check and security photo. If neccessary I guess all you will need to do is tell them you never received your ticket in time and your passport should get you on the ship. In the ticket it says boarding is from 2pm to 4pm but I got there at 12.10 to find 300 people already processed and waiting to board. I was on the ship and eating lunch in the lido by 1pm.

I travelled with Thomson last January, and my sisters in May of this year, on both occassions we were told Thomsons were having trouble with their ticketting machiness - had to pick up docs at airport.

Other than Sri Lanka, the friendliest place I have been to is Japan, where people will literally stop you in the street if you look ...

Fred Olsen have long been one of my favourite cruise lines, Braemar was the first ship I ever did a ” proper cruise”. Although in reality it is not really totally river cruising as the ships have been sailing from a UK port – Dover or Southampton.German Waterways sails ...
