Q: Visiting Dubrovnik on Ocean Village in October, are they still charging £10.00 each for the shuttle into the town, please. Any other info would be very welcome as I understand from another site that they have cancelled the "Neretva River" excursion 7 answers

Just come back of OV this week and we paid £5 for a buss ride to Mykonos. So i'm not so sure about the £10. We went to Dubrovnik last year, it was a tender port and as far as i can remember the town was infront of you just a short walk and no need for a bus.

thank-you for this information, although we have been on OV many times, (and will miss it) we have never done this area before, are doing Groves and Gondolas, before the Crete to Singapore sailing. Thanks again, Polly

When we were in Dubrovnick in June there was a big sign on the wall of the port building giving taxi fares and so it cost us 5 euros instead of £10. Just as a note we will be joining you in Crete for the last run down to Singapore. There is a good link on Cruise Critics web site with others on the final voyage: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=472

And if you are going to Corfu, they are charging £6. If you take the free shuttle bus to the port gates, you will find a local bus waiting for you, 1.20 Euros into the town centre. 90 cents return from San Rocco Square every 15 mins - direction Aimani (Port).

By the way, when we were onboard this year, several of the ship excursions were cancelled because of poor uptake and high cost! There were a lot of seasoned cruisers on board, experiencing a last go at Ocean Village, so they were happy enough to do their own thing. Nevertheless, we had a great time!

As far as I know, they are still charging this outrageous £10. It is a 40/45 min walk from Gruz up a long hill and then down into the city. You can pick up the yellow local buses , of which there are plenty, on the main road just outside the port , and they stop just where the shuttle coaches set people off outside the city walls. Apparently they charge the equivalent of 1.25 Euros return, but you will need a few Kuna for this. The staff on the ship are unlikely to tell you about this.
