This week's phone chat with the Southampton office revealed that they are now running a FREE shuttle bus service from Brooklyn to Manhattan and return. There will be , of course, 7 excursions in the city including one by helicopter. ENJOY,ENJOY!!!! DONO, Puthey. 29Aug.

Thank you so much for your help all of you. It seems to me it's very much a pig in a poke and real pot luck.

Speaking from experience, we were early off the ship at Brooklyn Terminal, lots of taxis and no queues, dry day. Took 35 minutes to check-in at The Helmsley on Central Park and the taxi cost $30, including a tip. It will take longer if it is raining. My tip is to get off the ship soonest so as not to queue for taxi. Have a nice voyage. Richard

Hi I can't answer that exactly, but I can suggest that you check that there isn't a shuttle coach organised. I joined the ship in NY, but met someone on board who was on a round-trip and she said that the coach had dropped them in Times Square. The terminal is a long way from Manhattan and taxi drivers from Manahattan don't seem to be confident about finding the terminal. I can only speak from "hearsay" but one couple set out from their hotel on 32nd Street and 20 mins later were back in 32nd! Another had to advise the driver " turn here, that's the ship"! I don't want to alarm you! Central park is wonderful so however you get there - ENJOY! Wendy

You're not joking. that is why we always book a 'limo' or Sedan from a private company. We got ripped off some years ago and will not now use a yellow cab if possible for a 'long' journey.
