Smoking is only permitted in designated areas on P&O ships; these places are specific and in open outside areas. Smoking is not allowed inside bars or in cabins, but cruisers can smoke on their balcony. Regards M&J.

Ingle - Answered a Question by Fry (04 Feb 09 09:43)

This is what the P&O website says.....For the safety, comfort and enjoyment of all our passengers, and in view of the UK legislation in favour of a ban on smoking in public spaces from 1 July 2007, we have reviewed and amended our policy on smoking and have adopted the following policy on board our ships. Ventura, Oceana and Artemis From N817, E825 and P815 - Complete inside smoking ban in all cabins and public spaces. Smoking is still permitted on balconies and on certain areas of the open decks. Oriana, Aurora and Arcadia From the commencement of the Euromed season in 2009, smoking will no longer be permitted in cabins on board any of the ships. Smoking will be allowed on cabin balconies, in one designated public room and on certain areas of the open decks.

We sailed on Oceana late November and found it as Ingle has said there was no smoking inside the ship and the pub was always full and we got the odd whiff of smoke on the balcony and a bit when walking round the outside decks but nothing to bother about, lovely ship nice staff and very good food. The smoking ban has not effected bookings we tried to book for next Christmas but its full? Enjoy your cruise.
