Find Your Cruise
Fred Olsen is pretty good as far as price and cabins for "lone travellers" is concerned but your best bet is to ask the cruise agents what's on the go and also when you can go. Even better if you can possibly use the same cabin with a twin bed set-up but I understand that might not be practicable or possible.. ... Neil.
Yes Fred Olsen is a very good cruise line for singles, I have travelled with them before and my husband and I were given what they termed a Junior Suite which was superb. It was very large with table and couch and fresh fruit in the bowl every day. It was a lovely experience. There was no balcony only two portholes, but as this cruise was in the winter going from Southampton to the Canaries we were not bothered. The weather is usually miserable until you get near the Canaries and after that we found that we didn't spend enough time on the ship to worry about a balcony. As to sharing the cabin, as my husband is unable to travel with me this time due to business pressures I'm travelling with a gay gentleman friend.I'm sure that we will both prefer single cabins but if it had been a lady friend we certainly would have shared.I know that he will have a chuckle about that suggestion as we both have a wicked sense of humour, hence our being able to go away on holiday together. We all went to the Caribbean together last Christmas( our fourth cruise there ) and thoroughly enjoyed it.Sue.
I have had a look on the P&O website, and the rate supplement for single occupancy on a Caribbean cruise in December is 60 percent. As Neil has suggested your best bet would be to contact a Cruise Agent and see what deal they can come up with for you.
Best fo luck, Bob.
