I think you will find that you will have an overnight in Manaus - and there is a margquee at the port for a large jewellery store, where they will get you a taxi to a hotel which I believe is the main outlet for the store. You can spend the day there as well as buy the jewellery. Never been to the hotel but others say it is lovely.

Are you sure you will have the opportunity in Barbados? If you're on a flight chartered by Fred, you'll be driven straight to the cruise port (BTW, brilliant transfer, you go direct from aircraft to bus - no immigration, no luggage carousel, you dont even go to the airport terminal, the luggage you checked in at the UK airport will next appear at your cabin door). If your ship leaves that afternoon you may not even have the chance to go to the jewellers in the cruise terminal.
IMHO Tobago is a nicer place than some have painted, but it's tiny & no good for shopping.
How far are you going? There'll be shops in Rio & Buenos Aires & complimentary transfers from the port offered by one shop, H Stearn. BTW, folk make use of their buses for a free transfer to city centre without any intention of buying from them.

Remember you are limited by Customs and Excise to a total of dutiable goods of £390 per person. Above that you are liable on the whole lot! Only the main chains of jewelery shops in the Caribbean, such as Columbian Emeralds, offer meaningful guarantee certificates. If you spend above this limit and perhaps wish to wear your purchases, you may be wise to post your receipts and guarantees back home! Customs and Excise know many of the tricks!

Yes plenty of jewellery shops in Barbados, you will also need penty of cash too, my last buy was $12,000 and that was a reasonable one lol. however you can upgrade for life and get back what you paid for it, so that is a bonus, just need to save another $12,000 to upgrade if OH will allow me. good luck xxx

Haven't been to Tabago, but there are several jewellery shops in the main town in Barbados -(sorry the name escapes me!) Prices are meant to be about a third less than in the UK, although I couldn't confirm that. Are you going to Antuiga on this trip? There you will find many nice shops, jewelley and others, in the port area. Names to look out for are Diamonds International, Tanzanite International, Columbian Emeralds etc

There is definitely at least one large jewellery shop in the port terminal buildings at Barbados. I have no idea whether they are any cheaper than English jewellers though. Sorry can't help with Tobago, never been there.
