We sailed on the Calypso on the 26th April around the Greek islands and Turkey. The ship was bril a bit old but very clean, the staff were wonderful and very helpful. Food excellent. The entertainment was 1st class as usual for Thompson Cruises (been on 4 now). We liked it especially as it was Adults only and everyone was so friendly. Enjoy. Diane from Sheffiel.

Hi there Edith...we've been on three thomson cruises and loved them all so I'm sure it will be fine. The itineraries on this one are superb we've done some of the Greek Islands before on the Emerald. Food will be good, entertainment is always good and I'm sure it will be clean and comfortable!!! the excursions etc. are always well organized as they've had plenty of practice! the ship however is an unknown quantity for us...we know it is small ..and adults only.. two things which suit us down to the ground.

Your River Cruise Questions An...

By Hannah Wilson

Any one who has followed my Blog over the years knows that my favourite type of cruising is river cruising. I did my first river cruise about 6 years ago, the first of many, and I have never looked back. It ticks all the boxes for me, small ships, friendly staff and passengers, fabulous scenery all day every day, and being docked right in the centre of which ever city you are visiting so no long transfers, not to mention fabulous food!I just find that I enjoy these cruises so much more...

Cuba

By Steve Fuller

Steve Fuller's blog

I visited Cuba recently and had an amazing experience. The people, the way of life and culture. I learned a lot of it’s history, more than just what I would have learned at school. It was very interesting to see at first hand what life is like there.Being on an escorted tour I was able to see the real Cuba. Not just a few nights in Havana and then spending the rest of our time on a beach. I visited Cuba in-land, I saw the farms, the tobacco and coffee plants and just how the real people...

Venice is Drowning With Tourists

By Lily Canderton

Lily Canderton's blog

The Truth is Venetians do not want to live in Venice any longer as their population dwindles with tourists often outnumbering residents, partly as a result of cruise ship visitors as the mega-cruise ships’ tens of thousands of passengers spilling into its narrow streets and canals, this mass tourism is causing irreversible damage on the fragile lagoon ecosystem and is endangering the environment of the city and its lagoon.Cruising into Venice Italy is one of those magical travel moments...
