Q: I am travelling at the end of March from Caribbean on the OV2 across the Altlantic to Maderia then Malaga and flying home from Crete. What's the weather like when crossing the atlantic - is it rough or cold? Will I need the usual heavy clothes?

We did the reverse crossing back in November. We found the atlantic crossing very smooth, the weather got better everyday, so you will probably find it getting cooler as you reach maderia. We found the med crossing very unpredictable one min it was sunny then next torrential rain, but will say it was a very enjoyable cruise.

Impossible to give an answer unless we know which route you are taking. If you are coming out of the lower Caribbean and taking a southerly route across then the weather should stay fine and very warm until you start to go into the Mediterranean and from then on it will depend whether you hug the North African coast or the European coast. The more north throughout this trip the colder and more unsettled the weather. ..... Neil

Thank you. After visiting I Barbados, St.Kitts, and Antigua.the route seems to dip south and then the ship calls in at Maderia and then onto Malaga. I don't know if this makes things any clearer. Fingers crossed

Yes, thank you, I would think that you will have fine weather up to Madeira where it will still be warm but does have a fair amount of rain making it the rich lush island it is. The south of Spain will be reasonable and can be very warm and it should carry on that way but it can be stormy at times in the Med in March. ..... Neil
