Q: does anyone know how well the QV holds the water in rough seas, we are thinking of sailing on her (our 4th cruise) to Maderia and the Canaries in May and have been reading mixed reviews, similarly about the food and the shows? 2 answers

I would prefer to do this cruise on QM2. I like the stability and the comfort of the ride especially in a sea area which can be fairly unpleasant(it's atlantic all the way!!) Cynthia

She is as stable as any big modern cruise ship. There are many ships based on the 'Vista Class' design such as P&O's Arcadia, Carnival, Costa and HAL ships. The Queen Mary 2 is more stable, being a purpose built Ocean Liner. I cruised on Queen Vic in her inaugural season and though her on board standards were pretty high, although QM2 is still may favourite.
