definately recommend NCL...., their ships are friendly and of a high standard. no formal nights smart casual order of the day, but research your budget carefully, drinks onboard can be a little expensive compared to uk pub prices. You should be able to do own thing in any of the ports apart from St peterburg where you will have to do some form of organised trip, either ships excursions or official operator. The baltic is an excellent intoduction to cruising......

Hi
We don't like formal dining either, so always cruise with NCL. It suts us well and we'e booked on the Norwegian Sun to go to the Baltics next May. Jacquie
