NO - you will be ok without adaptor on the SPirit - and for that matter the Celebration too but not on the Destiny. My wife has used her 240V GHDs on the first two ships above in our cabins. As for the Destiny you have to use a special plug out in the corridor !!!! We have sailed on all 3 ships in the last 2 years.

I could not use my hair straightners with an adaptor as it was an american ship and to do with voltage, but my mobile phone worked. Would think if an english ship will be an english type plug and shouldn't be a problem?

You will need an adaptor, as the Spirit has continental sockets. The voltage is 110 and 220v. It may be worth buying some travel/multi voltage straighteners as I did (Argos - less than £20!) which are guaranteed to work from 110volts. I overheard one lady complaining that hers wouldn't heat up, and so she had to buy some specially in one of the ports!

Are drinks packages worth it ?

By Peter Wellman

Peter Wellman's blog

It’s a question I get asked almost daily, are drinks packages worth it and of course there isn’t an easy answer unless you want to go through your daily intake on holiday with me! Some people literally work out how many drinks they would have to have to get their money’s worth which is fine but there are other things to consider.First of all do you really want to be thinking about it every day ? How many have i had today, am I getting my moneys worth ? In my opinion no, I li...

MSC offers a new school along ...

By Adrian Partridge

Adrian Partridge's blog

MSC Cruises, they just get better and better in my opinion. Last month I wrote about getting on a ship and helping the Caribbean by going there and spending some money. MSC have done a lot more than that with their latest offer of a school for the children.Along with the government of the British Virgin Islands MSC have dedicated a new, building that will serve as a school in Virgin Gorda. All 15 schools were destroyed in the British Virgin Islands during the recent hurricanes, the new pre-fa...
