Neil and Ida Down - Answered a Question by Dearle (16 Sep 08 20:16)

If you can open a Nationwide account and be strict with yourselves by using it purely for the holiday and then paying off the whole amount when it first becomes due, so avoiding any interest, then this is the best way. If you cannot pay it off when immediately due then the interest rate is quite high, that's why they do it knowing that lots will not pay it off immediately. This is another of those occasions when it pays to pay by direct debit as it is always paid off when due and you can't be caught out by being away when payment is due and therefore over-running. regards... Neil .
