Actually they checked ours on booking in and we had to move stuff around, even the hand luggage was checked. Best to check with your Travel agent or Thomson.

Main luggage one case was about 2kg over so we had to transfer some into the other which was OK but our friends hand luggage was about 1.5kg over so we had to spread it around 4 of us very panicky situation, they weighed everyones hand luggage. Depends which airport you use I guess we were at East Midlands. Got stung on the way back from Dominican Republic with Thompsons at DR you pretty much have to put everything in your main luggage. hardly anything allowed in hand luggage - ended up paying $75 excess which was a bit of a shock.

The actual allowance for luggage is 25kgs and 5kgs for hand luggage until May of this year then the luggage allowance goes down to 23kgs and the hand luggage up to 7kgs. Hope that this helps.

25 kg in the hold sand 5 kg in hand - did not weigh our hand luggage at Birmingham in Dec 08 but would not recommend going over the limits. Nothing got weighed at the chaos at La Romana on the way home - they just piled all the cases on the scales at once including other passengers !! See Reviews for Transatlantic on Destiny in reviews section.

By Kerry James

Kerry James's blog

I have just returned from a great 3 nights on board the Royal Princess where i flew from Gatwick to Edinburgh and then met my colleagues Emily, Ava and Juliette to catch the tender from the South Queensferry pier to where the Royal Princess was anchored and where the ship was to be our home for 3 nights on the cruise back to Southampton via Le Havre. We had balcony cabins on the sailing and you can view the tour of my cabin here: https://www.facebook.com/kerryjamescruise/videos/2017205255160...
