If you go up to the blue 'Find a Question' box and select 'Medical' from the topics pulldown you will find a number of answers to your question. Typically the answer would be no, but you don't say which ports you are visiting and there are a few areas (closer to South America) where vaccinations may be a good idea or even compulsory. If unsure, contact your doctor. Can't help with the laptop question.

There are people who are experts on vaccinations. They are all health professionals, not cuisers. I have said on here before - in a matter so important, one would be crazy to seek advice from anyone other than a health professional. No one on this forum is either qualified to give, or indeed should give, such advice.

We are taking a western caribbean cruise in Feb. and I contacted the practice nurse this morning. The jabs she recommended, Hep. A and Tetanus, we had boosters of and they are still valid and typhoid is not really required as we will not be anywhere near contaminated water. As 'the caribbean' covers many different areas it would be advisable to contact your practice and get their free and up to date advice.

A Cruiser? Me Sir? No Sir?...

By Jodie Baldwin

My last blog was about my partner actually taking his first cruise . My blog today has been done by Mike who tells us about his first cruise experience. Today is part 1 with part 2 to follow next time. Here goes! The idea of a cruise never really ‘floated my boat’. Hundreds actually thousands of people lumped onto a vessel, fighting for space and corralled for a least a week . No- not for me. On the other hand , if your partner is employed by one of the largest cruise travel agenci...

Well I am back from my Italian holiday and I paid a visit to Trento, the capital city of Trentino Alto Adige in the north of Italy nestled between the Alps. The drive to Trento was lovely and the view driving through by car was amazing, we were surrounded my mountain by their white tips all the way there. Verona to Trento is about 1 hour and there are good train connections. We visited an Aeronautical museum of Giovan Battista Caproni, one of the most important engineers of Aeroplane’s h...

It seems to me these days that people spend so much time moaning and whingeing about this and that, nothing works like it should and nothing is ever good enough, I thought it nice to share the thoughts of this refreshingly positive chap recently stranded on the NCL Star out in Australia.Francis Lahue and his wife were passengers of the Norwegian Star as it faced engine problems last Friday morning after leaving port. The luxury cruise ship was forced to bob without direction 30km off the coas...
