Q: My wife and I had to cancel our booking on the Queen Victoria Christmas cruise due to health problems. I just am interested to know whether she had the Norus Virus on that cruise. Having had it on Saga Ruby I never want it again and was wary about my decision to go on that cruise. 9 answers

Have you or have you not been on the Queen Victoria Christmas Cruise?? It is not clear in your question. If you mean did the Queen victoria have an outbraeak of Norovirus on the Christmas sailing, my parents were on this Cruise and there were no signs of it. hope this helps.

All you can do is to wash your hands thoroughly and regularly and use an viral gel. Noro virus is endemic in the the population and spreads quickly in closed communities such as schools, hospitals, old people's homes, hotels and cruise ships. Far more people remain well than get the illness, even in an outbreak, so it would be a shame to miss your holidays.

The Gell has absolutely NO effect on the Noro Virus only soap and water works.

Noro virus is not the only cause of illness. Surely an anti bacterial/viral gel or spray is better than nothing? If not why do they use them in hospitals?

it is usefull for killing a whole host of germs, but NOT for the Noro virus

Isn't that what I said? "Noro virus is not the only cause of illness."

You need to avoid Hospital, trains, buses, shops and just about every other public place too - Norovirus is nOt just a ship-bourne illness. (It's also more common withing groups of Older peopel so best avoid Saga and olsen - or carry on with life and don't worry!)
