Q: Just wondered if anyone has been on the Mercury recently as i have read there have been several outbreaks of norovirus on board, has anyone experienced this or has it now cleared up? as we are going next week. Many thanks.	4 answers 349 views

We travelled on the Mercury on the delayed cruise that should have left Charleston on 19/03/10 but eventually left on 21/03/10 - the staff on board worked continually to keep this ship santitised and on our trip I think only 6 people got the virus.

Hi Sandra,is that you?! This is Lesley! We sailed on Mercury for our first cruise two years ago, to Alaska and thoroughly enjoyed it! We did read on reviews that it was looking a bit shabby in places but we didnt see any evidence of that. The staff were friendly and the food was lovely. We had no complaints at all and they were Sailed on Celebrity Infinity last year and enjoyed that but felt it wasnt as good as Mercury, despite Mercury being smaller and older, maybe thats its charm. Hope you have a great time. We trying the new P&O Azura in May. Safe sailing all!

Hi Lesley, Yes!, I knew you did Celebrity but wasn't sure what ship. We are doing Oceana again in July for eldest Son's 'honeymoon' (Just another excuse to do a big family cruise), and the Solstice in October. Hope you have a lovely time on Azura, speak soon, luv Sandra.
