With Thomson - usually no as the ships are normally fully booked. The ship and cabin will not be "vile" - depending on what you are used to it should be acceptable. Its a very bad idea to go into a cruise holiday (or any other holiday for that matter) expecting things to be vile. Maybe next time you should read the reviews and decide before you book. Another thing to consider - if you have paid the lowest base price why do you expect things to be at a certain standard? Thomsons provide a very good cruise experience for the price. It your taste is champagne but your pockets are ale then I doubt you will be satisfied.
I agree - unless there is an empty cabin you will have little chance of changing and if it is of a higher standard you will have to pay IF they choose to allow you to upgrade.
I'm sure you will have a great holiday, we have travelled with Thomson ships before and we can recommend them. I personally always go for an outside cabin to allow for a window or porthole but a friend of mine always insists on an inside cabin with no window. All cabins are cleaned to the highest of standards and you will find that nothing is too much trouble for your cabin steward (most passengers always tip this member of staff at the end of their cruise). Although I have not been on this particular cruise, I have cruised in this area in November and found the weather and stops just perfect. Have a wonderful cruise and I bet you will book another when you return.
Thank you for tour reply-I'm sure you are right.Have a nice Sunday!
I think I worded question badly-sorry!I know the cruise will be good-should have just asked if cabin could be changed once on board-no offence meant.
Been with thomsons twice, once on this cruise and always enjoyed great food and really good entertainment. It`s difficult to up-grade although if poss they will, we booked inside first time and learnt our lesson as it`s nice to see the sea and outside the second. Hope you enjoyed the cruise no matter what cabin you ended up with.
