The pics in the brochures DO NOT show drop down beds for the second occupant. Which cabins are these? I don't mind small but do not want a drop down bed even if this means having an inside cabin.Do I have to book a cabin with parallel beds.

Those drop-down bunks are only there if/when you have more than two ppl in your cabin. If you have kids along with you...Voila! the extra bunks appear automagically! The room steward has his instructions, and a special key that releases the extra accommodation from out of the wall or ceiling. If it's just the two of you going, those extra bunks won't be in your way, but if you look closely up on the ceiling of your cabin, you'll see what I'm talking about(..with a little keyhole).

Sorry Aplmac, not correct. All the outside cabins on Destiny, with exception of Suites and Deluxe, have a 'drop down Bed' which is for the SECOND occupant in the cabin. The layout in the cabin is either 'L' shaped beds or Parallel. The bed that does not drop down doubles as a daytime settee. The cabins are really small and this is how they create space, or give an impression of greater space in their brochures.

It later occurred to me...are we talking Carnival Destiny(I was) - or Thompson Destiny? We had an interior on Carnival Destiny(does Eastern Carib. circuit) and my expounding was based on that experience, sorry.

We were on the Destiny in February 06 in cabin 3176, this also had a dropdown bed, the cabin is for two people but very small.

We have stayed on the Destiney 3 times and have cabin 3210. This is an outside cabin with a drop down bed. Please dont think this is a bunk bed, It is a single bed that does pull down but is actually very comfortable. We first had a cabin with the parallel beds and found this to make the cabin small when not sleeping. The cabins are very small and to be honest in need af a major overhaul, but the are cosy! and the friendliness of the staff and the passengers more than makes up for this. Just go and enjoy yourself. You only use the cabin to sleep in.
