Q: I have read reports of noisy cabins on the Thomson Emerald. Can anyone recommend which cabins may be quiet. I am currently booked on deck 1 or 2 inside cabin. 2 answers

ahh, yes there are noisy cabins. Deck 1 is split, the middle of the ship being the engines etc. If possible try to get a cabin at the front, rear left turbine used to vibrate at high speed whcih caused a little noise, but found the rear of the ship noiser. If you select the front check the ships plan and try not to be where the anchor is, as when you dock at a tender port, the anchor makes alot of noise. Me personally, I only found the rear part noisy at high speed (when you have left port late and trying to catch up time) and the front when the ship is using its thrusters (at dock) and at anchor (at tender port). Other wise you should eb safe on both these decks. If you ever go to other decks, try to avoid rooms directly under the starlight disco, next to the bistro as these haev large numbers of people milling around at late hours.

I have been on the emerarld twice and have had an outside cabin, but to behonest I have never heard anyone complain about the cabins being noisy. It is a great ship and the food and entertainment is excellent- you will love i
