Q: Hello: We are planning to take the "Crusades of the Levant" cruise on the Swan Hellenic's Minerva next spring. As budget is a concern, we are booking an inside cabin on the Atlantic deck. Has anyone a suggestion re recommended location for an inside cabin on this deck. We are concerned about engine noise etc.
We've been reading the reviews on this site and therefore have some concerns about Minerva's ability to meet its schedule - a shame if we miss sites in Egypt, Syria etc. We are first time cruisers, mid 50's, but know the large vegas style crusing is not for us. We appreciate any advice! Thank you.

We did book the trip and look forward to seeing you on board! We are now just waiting for our detailed cruise books. I understand there has been a delay in sending them out - due to the situation in Egypt no doubt. Hopefully, our excursions to Giza and the museum will carry on as planned as things there seem to be settling down. It is a trip of a lifetime for us. John

We have had cabins on B deck - an 08 towards the stern and an 07 near the bow. Both were quiet but in the passageways there is machinery noise near midships - this may well be the case on A deck. Minerva does have a low top speed (around 14 knots) so adverse weather/currents can cause delays. We had to miss ports in the Yemen last year but this was more due to concerns about pirates.
