Can you take hair straightener on board independence.

Definitely not allowed irons as it is a fire hazard, but they do have a laundry and pressing service, which I think is reasonably priced . They have special offers - e.g. a whole bag for $x once or twice during the cruise or individual items at all times. Think there are hairdryers in rooms, but am not sure. If you go on to the Royal Caribbean website and look in the various drop down boxes at the top you will find a mine of information. Try the "before you board" sections and the FAQs. Everything alse is well worth looking at too ...all sorts of information about what to pack, excursions, eating, drinking, spa prices ...everything you need to know really. We are going on Independence on 4th July and have only done a 4 day taster before (with RCI) ...we're really looking forward to it. Enjoy!
Hi. We are sailing on IOTS for the first time on 4th July 09. You mention in your response to Lee's question that you can obtain spa prices in the FAQ's on the RCI website. I was able to find lots of information on various topics but no information on prices for the spa/salon. Our T/A rang RCI who were unable to provide prices. Could you please let me know what you typed into the search engine to find the prices. Many thanks. Lisa.
Sorry - thought I saw them ...will have another look for you. I have been on a short cruise on RCI a couple of years ago and the Spa prices were quite expensive. I know the hot stone therapy which I fancied was around £100 and the dollar exchange rate was much better then. ( I didn't do it - couldn't afford it) One tip is to do the Spa tour on the first day (they will probably advertise it on the tannoy or in cabin) and they give you discount vouchers , which helps a bit.
We are also going on the Indy on 4th July! may see you there.....
I don't know about irons, I never needed one, but I am sure your cabin steward would soon advise you. There are hairdryers in every cabin plus a little kettle for tea/coffee - you will have a fabulous time on the huge independence of the seas!
