Someone has asked this before. Is this a new policy - anybody know? Never been charged on two previous Med cruises for tenders - only for shuttle buses. If someone can find out, please let us all know. Thanks - Alison.

Never heard anything like it!!What are things coming to? If true it sounds like a good reason to avoid Royal Caribbean(amongst others I can think of)Cynthia.

I have just finished talking to the powers that be at Royal Caribbean and they have categorically said that there is no charge for tenders. As this is the only method of getting ashore at some stops they see no reason why there should ever be a charge for that. It could be that you are confusing two similar word: Tenders and Transfers. Transfers in the form of shuttles sometimes have a charge for use, other times they are free. If this is what you are referring to then you will have to be more specific about the ports concerning you. .... Neil.

The reference to a charge for tenders was on another cruise forum. The posts were dated 2007 and it is re-assuring to learn from the answers below that this is not the case now. Thanks to all who responded.

Does Your Cruise Loyalty Club ...

By Collette Apak

Collette Apak's blog

All cruise lines are keen to get customers back on board their ships once they have taken their first cruise. To help this they all have their individual loyalty schemes, most of which were in place many years before the likes of Tesco Clubcard points and the Boots Advantage card. Most loyalty tiers are measured on how many nights you’ve spent on board or the number of cruises taken. The benefits vary hugely between each cruise company. Some of the benefits for repeat customers include ...
