We did a royal caribbean cruise to the blatic some years ago at the end of July. weather is unpredicatable in the Baltic. The cruis ebefore ours was wet etc but we had a hest wave. Take a mixture of clothing so that you can increase or decrease the layers, It was a fabulous cruise and experience. June Horbur.

The reason you are getting conflicting reports is because the weather is not a constant. Generally it is slightly warmer than here but you will soon be close enough, in time, to check out the 10 day forecasts for some of the earliest ports of call and if you take this as a mean it will give you a good idea. There are many weather stations on the net including the BBC. Enjoy Neil Dow.

We went on the Jewel of the Seas at exactly the same time last year. We had really good weather, not exceptionally hot but warm and sunny. However assume the weather will be much like UK, possibly variable, so take sweaters just in case. Remember its about as far north as the Shetland Islands Bria.

Hello George, we went to the Baltic this time last year, departed 19th August on Arcadia. The weather was brilliant, warm and sunny, although a little chilly in the evenings, bearing in mind the ship is generally sailing overnight. We have been on three cruises and the Baltic cruise was the best one we have been on. Enjoy. Christine. New Milto.

We went in June last year and was expecting quite low temperatures - it ended up being really hot - 80+ some days. I would take a mixture of stuff - make sure you have some shorts and tshirts and swimwear, but also a couple of sweaters too just in case!

In June this year it was 83 when we were in Oslo, almost as hot in Copenhagen, low 70's in St Petersburg and decidedly cold and windy in Tallin a couple of days later - so definitely take a mixture. For the first half of our cruise it was hotter than the UK was experiencing.

We did the Baltic cruise in August and the weather was extremely warm. In fact, St Petersburg was absolutely blistering. I would recommend bringing nothing heavier than a medium jumper...just in case you get a cool evening. The only place it rained was Oslo, but it was a light rain and the temperature was still about 21 degrees.

Friendliest Countries in the World

By Zara Kelly

The inspiration for this blog comes from some clients who are travelling to Sri Lanka on holiday this year. I visited the pearl in the Indian Ocean a few years ago, and was blown away by how friendly the country is happy to chat to strangers about spices through to cricket, a passion there!I think speaking to locals give you a real insight into the destination. Other than Sri Lanka, the friendliest place I have been to is Japan, where people will literally stop you in the street if you look ...

Fred To Enter The River Market

By Camilla Edwards

Camilla Edwards's blog

Fred Olsen have long been one of my favourite cruise lines, Braemar was the first ship I ever did a ” proper cruise”. When I say proper I mean not a mini cruise or ship visit as it was a 14 night Canary Islands sailing. In the last couple of years Braemar has been one of the lines ships that have started to do river cruising. Although in reality it is not really totally river cruising as the ships have been sailing from a UK port – Dover or Southampton.German Waterways sails ...
