I don't know where you read that, believe me it's total nonsense!! You can order as many as you want at a time at any bar you choose. No voucher required, just hand over your seapass card as for any other drinks. As we tend to travel in groups of 6 or 8 we typically order 3 at a time......Wilba.

Hi Wilba, I'm interested in the concept of a wine package. I have just been on RCI's website, as we are doing the Far East crusise on Legend in February, but can't find any reference to a prepaid wine package - just the one that can be purchased on board. I have e-mailed RCI but won't hold my breath until I get a reply - thought it may be quicker to ask you as you seem to be a fount of knowledge. Can you let me know if they are useful/cost effective - there will just be the two of us and we normally consume a bottle of wine with dinner each evening?

If you look back at a post made by Wilba on 12th Dec - this should explain if you read through the various comments on that post. Essentially if you look on the RCI dot com US site where cost of wine package is in dollars compared to the UK Site which is in Pounds there is currently a big saving as they have not adjusted with the drop in the exhange rate. I always have difficulty in finding it on their site but I go via this route on RCI UK web site go to Before You Book then What to Know before you go - on the right hand side there is a Serach this site. Type in Wine Package and select Wine and Dine. This brings up the various wine packages. I think I calculated that the 12 bottle Gold if you prepay and buy now paying in sterling is around £60 plus compared to purchsing on board and paying in dollars! - I am sure Wilba will clarify this for you.

Many thanks for your information and Wilba's also- most helpful. I have found the UK site which is in GBP but when I attempt to access the dot com US site - it always converts it to GBP. Is there another address? Regards, Mrs Anderton.

It's the UK site you need to use. DON'T use the dot com site. My last post on this never got through (why, I don't know). The prices should read as D & B's comment below. Fill out the form, print it off & post it either with a cheque or credit card details to: Royal Caribbean International, Aviator Park, Addlestone Rd, Weybridge KT15 2UE.

Somewhere at the top of their page it asks something like not from the UK - Click on it and select USA this brings up the price in $ Dollars.

Hi! I have responded with the RCI address of the Wine Package Pre Pay, but any thing that looks 'suspicious' goes to auto moderation, so hopefully it will show later. It's a devil of a job to find on the RCI site. In terms of purchasing onboard, I do have a few reservations as to their value. The smaller packages have a limited choice in my view, & within that pack some wines may be valued at $40 & some around $25 on the 'normal wine list'. If your palette prefers the taste of the cheaper wine, then the saving is not so great overall, if that makes sense. As Mrs B has pointed out the pre pay saving due to the dollar drop is definitely worth having & the wine selection(s) are shown on the order form......Wilba .

A Cruiser? Me Sir? No Sir?...

By Jodie Baldwin

My last blog was about my partner actually taking his first cruise . My blog today has been done by Mike who tells us about his first cruise experience. Today is part 1 with part 2 to follow next time. Here goes! The idea of a cruise never really ‘floated my boat’. Hundreds actually thousands of people lumped onto a vessel, fighting for space and corralled for a least a week . No- not for me. On the other hand , if your partner is employed by one of the largest cruise travel agenci...

Tell me what is on your Bucket List

By Lee Johnson

Lee Johnson's blog

Over the last few years here at www.CRUISE.co.uk we have seen the cruise industry change massively. Gone are the days when a simple cruise will suffice, people are now wanting more from their cruise. We are seeing a steady rise in the requirements to do a land stay prior to the cruise (or after it in some cases). Not only that but people are wanting tours and particularly escorted tours that really give an essence of that region. Our most popular package of the last few years has undoubtedly been...

Is River Cruising Accessible?

By Hannah Wilson

Hannah Wilson's blog

Quite simply, River Cruising is my passion, my favourite type of cruise. i have been lucky enough to do five river cruises to date and the next one can’t come soon enough. Top of my river cruising bucket list has to be the Mekong, gliding through Vietnam and Cambodia – one day I hope! You would think that river cruising would be perfect for people with limited mobility, smaller ships with less passengers on, only three decks etc, but is river cruising really ideal for wheelchair an...
