Sorry Bill but your contact has given you wrong steer. Laem Chabang is the cruise ship port & Legend is definitely docking there on this cruise......Regards Wilba.

Laemchabang port is a two & a half hour journey into Bangkok (112 miles from memory) & as this city is known for it's night life then an overnight hotel is worthy of consideration. There will be plenty of taxi's willing to take you as I think there is little on the way that requires a tour company/bus. A cheap 3 star hotel should only cost about £30 a night & if I had not done Bangkok before, I would certainly be looking at this kind of option. Hope this has been of some food for thought.........Wilba.

Hi Scott, going on same cruise in Feb- any idea what sort of clothing to pack for the cruise and have you had your visas sorted out? I am off to the Chinese visa office on 7/1/09 and i think i will need visa for Xiamen and Shanghai- is this correct? I have reaslised that there is more to than just going on the cruise!! I have my husband to thank for as he chose to go on this particular cruiseand we are first time cruisers. Pauline- Suffolk.

Hi Pauline. We are packing clothing for the warm weather and some others jumpers etc for when we arrive in Shanghai as I think it will only be in the late 50s temperature wise. We are off to the Chinese visa office on the 12th but it is all so confusing isn't it? You will love cruising, once you have been you will be hooked!! You are very adventurous to try the far East on your first cruise but it sounds great doesn't it - we can't wait.

Many Thanks Mrs Scott for your advice. Royal Carribean have changed our inbound flight itinerary so will definintely need to have warm clothing for Shanghai. I am from M'sia originally- have been to S'pore before but never been to the other countries. Looking forward to this cruise.

John - Answered a Question by Scott (24 Jan 09 12:31)

Hi Scott, We are om the same cruise, 4 of us, we are going by limo, sightseeing for the day, to pick us up at the port, take us to Bangkok, and return in the evening, about 10 hours, for a price of 5700 baht inc all port and toll fees. Have you found out the formal days yet, as they have only told us 3 formal days, but no dates. John.
