Obviously, the easiest way is to let your onboard account take care of it. However, like you, I often prefer to tip in person. Last year we did a Royal Caribbean cruise out of Southhampton and I tipped in Euros. The cabin steward and table staff seemed delighted. The bottom line is, it's all money in their pockets.

That is usual but Euros or sterling would be equally accepted if you are giving it personally. Your Onboard account will be in US dollars. .... Neil.

I asked the room steward which currency he preferred. He wasn't bothered. We tipped in US dollars. They have US dollar accounts already for their pay.
