I have pictures taken on and from the balcony of 8414 on The Independence which is directly above the stateroom you mentioned. I can e mail them to you if you want.

All Freedom and Voyager class ships have the 'superstructure' at the back. Personally I would take deck 10 over deck 7 as it is more noticable, this link provides the best pictures of what it looks like: http://travel.webshots.com/album/48328219CtbGLi.

We returned on Saturday from the Independence, we were in cabin 9704 (which was a corner cabin). Yes the super structure runs along the back, but it didn't spoil our view. We loved the ship so much that we arrived home at 1.pm on Saturday, and rang the travel agents to book the Italian Med cruise in June next year - it's fabulous.
