We crossed the Atlantic in April this year and the weather was very bad. We ran into a storm off the coast of Spain and we 2were unable to leave our cabin for 24 hours as the ship was moving so much. On the journey back the sea was like a mill pond so you just never know.St Maartens was very nice we just walked off the ship and the shops were very close. If you want to go into the town then I would book a trip as it is quite a long walk.

In St Maarten I suggest you rent a jeep thru Hertz and go all around the island To Marigot for lunch and shopping, Grand Case , then over for short snorkle at Orient Beach or Dawn Beach and back to the ship. Don't forget to go to see the planes at Maho, stop for a brew at Sunset Beach Bar. Maho is where the planes land right over the beach. Little Divi Bay is a beautiful beach with great snorkeling that's literally "around the corner" from the port. Mullett Bay is the nude beach.

Crikey, sounds like I am going to be busy....sounds great though, thanks. I wondered about what side of ship to book, but "sods law" I have chosen the port side, never mind I am sure it will still be wonderful. We hit a force 11 crossing the Bay of Lions on the Jewel, but with the stabilisers in use we were fine so the wind is not too much of a problem, just hope it is going to be warm!!

And on an eastbound transatlatic you lose 1 hr every day. And you need a balcony on the starboard side of the ship to maximise the sunlight.
