I live in North Queensland and am happy to try and answer your question. From Brisbane, do the day coach tour to the Gold Coast (approx 1 hour south of the city). Alternativly why not do the day tour to Australia Zoo (Steve Irwins place) which is approx 1 hour north of Brisbane. They are very well set up and professional. You wll see crocs, snakes, kangaroos, wombats, tigers and tropical birds. Am not sure where you will be calling into in the Great Barrier Reef area, most likely Whitsunday Islands or Yorkeys Beach near Cairns. From either of these places you can do a fabulous day tour to the reef where you will see all the marine life through glass bottom boats, submarines and the like. You wont need to snorkel if you dont wish to, you wont even get you feet wet! Cairns has an aerial cableway that takes you above the tropical forest up to Kuranda. From there you can catch a real old train back down to Cairns. Also from Yorkeys you can do a one hour trip north to Port Douglas which has to be the prettiest place on earth...right where the tropical rain forest meets the long white beaches. Whatever you choose, enjoy!

Port Or Starboard? Whats t...

By Gina Rowan

I wish I had a pound for every time I have been asked this question. I could have sailed around the world in Luxury! Aah yes! but would I choose Port or Starboard for my cabin? Or left side versus the right side of the ship?I suppose it depends on where you’re headed. I know that quite a few seasoned cruisers swear by the Starboard side. Although it really depends on what type of cruise you are on.For instance, if you are sailing in one direction, North or West generally people pr...

A Majestic Atrium the heart of the ship.

By DJ Weatherall

DJ Weatherall's blog

Majestic and her stunning atrium is the heart of the shipThe Plaza on Majestic is on Deck 5 – from here you can access 3 decks either by marble staircase or Panoramic Lifts – it is without doubt the heart of the ship. There are restaurants and bars, cafe’s and lounges, speciality tea and coffee takeaway or sit down areas and the all important shops.I know some lines prefer to have a royal promenade that runs along the centre of the ship – but Majestic just like Royal a...

MSC Loyalty Match scheme a hit!!

By Brad Smith

Brad Smith's blog

MSC have launched a new incentive to attract new customers and reward existing clients with an offer of matching customers loyalty level with competitors. Rather that just stop at matching cruise line loyalty levels, they have gone as far as matching loyalty levels for hotel chains and tour operators too.Clever move in my opinion, as I have many customers that specifically stick to a specific company as their loyalty levels are at the top level, so they love the perks they receive from their ...
