What ports of call? If going to St P then you must either go with the ships tours or with a recognises licenced Russian tour guide [Alla, Red October,DenRus are the most recomended]. With either of these options you do not need to get a Russian visa. As for weather who knows what it will be like in England over Easter let alone Scandinavia.

Thanks for your feedback. Sorry, I do not know the port' names but they will be somewhere in Amsterdam, Scadinavia and Oslo. I asked the travel agents but they did not give me much detail in their answers.

My suggestion as Easter is early this year is to take warm clothing, that way you can always take things off should it warm up. In Amsterdam I would certainly take the children on a trip around the canals, they should love that. There is also a great miniature village park at Madurodam near Den Hague that’s really worth checking out but allow the whole day for this. Your youngest might be too young to appreciate Anne Franks House. And just to walk around Amsterdam and listen to the music and see the canals, bridges and houses is very pleasant, (For you the beer is great) In Copenhagen Tivoli Gardens will amuse the children although it is a little expensive and to see it at it’s best an evening visit is preferable. The trips on a boat around the harbour and back waterways is also a good experience and not too expensive you can get the boats from the town centre by the harbour. The beer is more expensive here but not as expensive as in Norway where you might like to visit a park with some wonderful iron and bronze sculpture (unfortunately I’ve forgotten its name) or to go and walk around the winter Olympic skiing stadium which is quite interesting and the ski jump from the top is frightening. Oslo is an interesting city to walk around and has some good parks in it although I don’t remember any swings or slides. Hope that is food for thought…..Neil .

Having read your last message I suggest you go to royal Caribbean's web site where you will find your cruise you will also, if you insert your reference number be able to get a great deal more info including the ship's tours etc and the ports and details of them and also fill in a form to save you time as you embark. I would also, if I were you dump that agent and get one who knows what they are talking about and by the sound of it you will probably get a better price....regards Nei.

I assumed that you were talking about the School end of term "Easter" break and not the religious festival of Easter....Hope I was right....Nei.

No children for me so no idea that Easter school holidays may not coincide with religous Easter - it always did in my day....

Life as a Crew Member The ...

By Elise Otaki

The endless rumours about crew life always tickle me – working 24 hours a day, getting paid next to nothing and sharing a room with 184 other people. The simple truth of the matter is – you do work long hours, you are away from home for long periods and it is blooming hard going sometimes BUT you get a job that takes you around the World! Surely a bit of overtime is worth that?I have to confess that I was lucky – I joined P&O in the Shore Excursions department, so I auto...

Japan Week

By Robin Clarke

Robin Clarke's blog

So this week marks the Japan week promoting various different cruise lines that are incorporating a stay and cruise, with new 2018 itineraries now in place. So why is Japan a top destination in 2017 – Here’s what my colleague Holly had to say.“Japan had proved to be a top destination for 2017 and is already in demand for 2018 so why is this the case? After visiting Japan myself in 2016 and also with Joanna Lumley’s Japan airing on ITV in September 2016 it really is of n...

Tell me what is on your Bucket List

By Lee Johnson

Lee Johnson's blog

Over the last few years here at www.CRUISE.co.uk we have seen the cruise industry change massively. Gone are the days when a simple cruise will suffice, people are now wanting more from their cruise. We are seeing a steady rise in the requirements to do a land stay prior to the cruise (or after it in some cases). Not only that but people are wanting tours and particularly escorted tours that really give an essence of that region. Our most popular package of the last few years has undoubtedly been...
